Chain length effect on the structure and photoelectrochemical properties of self-assembled monolayers of porphyrins on gold electrodes
Article Abstract:
Photosynthesis is one of the unique properties exhibited by organized molecular assemblies which is not present in a single molecule. A new study investigates the structure and photoelectrochemistry of self-assembled monolayers of porphyrins on gold electrodes.

An investigation of photocurrent generation by gold electrodes modified with self-assembled monolayers of C60
Article Abstract:
The systematic changing of the linking positions meta, ortho and para at a phenyl group on a pyrolidine ring fused to the C60 moiety enabled three different kinds of C60 alkanethiols to be prepared. Well-ordered structures were formed in self-assembled monolayers of these C60 alkanethiols on gold electrodes as shown by electrochemical measurements. Using gold electrodes modified with self-assembled monolayers of the C60, photoelectrochemical studies were carried out.
