Vibrational properties of CO at the Pt(111)-solution interface: The anomalous stark-tuning slope
Article Abstract:
Vibrational properties of CO were examined on PT(111) in acid and alkaline electrolytes using synchronous measurements of CO oxidation current (0.5 mV/s) and infrared absorption-reflection spectroscopy (IRAS) spectra. The unusual potential-dependent behavior is interpreted in terms of compression/dissipation of CO islands during the CO oxidation, engendered by competitive adsorption between inactive anions from a supporting electrolyte and the reactive OH species.

Carrier dynamics in TiO2 and Pt/TiO2 powders observed by femtosecond time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy at a spectral region of 0.9-1.5 (mu)m with direct absorption method
Article Abstract:
Femtosecond time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy of TiO2 and Pt/TiO2 microparticle powders are measured at the wavelength region of 0.9 and 1.5 (mu)m is reported. Broad absorption bands of charge carriers, mainly free and trapped electrons are observed for TiO2 and Pt/TiO2.
