Progress on the chemistry of dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans
Article Abstract:
The biological, structural, and spectral properties of dibenzocyclooctadiene lignans and their derivatives are described. Synthetic methods for the preparation of dibenzocyclooctadiene ring system, including asymmetric synthesis strategies are also described.

Electrocyclization reactions that are found or suspected in the biosynthesis of natural products. It is shown that electrocyclic reactions occur regularly in the biosynthesis of natural products and are not confined to a few isolated examples.
