STM control of chemical reactions: single-molecule synthesis
Article Abstract:
The advances in the single atom/molecule manipulation with a Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) enable scientists to fabricate atomic-scale structures or to investigate chemical and physical properties of matters at an atomic level. Various STM manipulation schemes can be used to construct new molecules from the basic molecular building blocks on a one-molecule-at-a-time basis.

Quantum scattering calculations on chemical reactions
Article Abstract:
The recent quantum scattering calculations on the molecular chemical reactions in the gas phase are reviewed. The recent development in time-dependent wave packet theories and the applications of reduced dimensionality approaches for treating polyatomic reactions are emphasized.

Molecular aspects of halide ion hydration: the cluster approach
Article Abstract:
A historical context of the perceptions of the hydration shell surrounding halide ions is depicted. Efforts are made to elucidate the behavior of water molecules in direct contact with the anion, with the help of cluster systems in combination with the theory.
