At Comdex '99, Sanyo catches image market on cue with array of products

Sanyo Fisher (USA) Corp displayed a variety of product lines that included its VPC-SX500 digital camera at the Fall Comdex '99 trade show in Las Vegas, NV. The VPC-SX500 captures and playbacks VGA-resolution video clips in motion JPEG (M-JPEG) format. Thus, the video clips recorded by the camera are directly compatible with the QuickTime Format. The VPC-SX500 also employs a three-bus architecture and takes 0.7 seconds to record a 1.5 mega-pixel still image, while the shutter interval is about 0.9 seconds.

Digital still camera packs 1.3 Million Pixels, outputs multiple-format video

Taiwan Telecommunications Industry Company Ltd featured a 1.3-mil pixel digital still camera at CeBIT '99 in Hannover, Germany, from Mar 18, 1999 to Mar 24, 1999. The company's TDC-150 camera uses a 12-bit color processing and stores the collected image on CompactFlash cards. The camera, which can download the image to either a Macintosh computer or a Windows operating system, uses the JPEG file format amd permits PAL and NTSC video output.
