Toshiba Corp.'s Alegretto M1 PDR-M1 digital still camera incorporates a CCD of 1.5 million pixels and a 1.8-inch backlit LCD monitor, aside from an easy-to-use mode dial and a revolving lens cover. The digital camera also features an automatic-recording mode to select the best image setting as well as a manual shooting and a 2x digital zoom. The company is also offering the Alegretto 5 PDR-5 digital camera, which has a new 2.5-inch reflective LCD monitor for image confirmation in outdoor settings. A monthly sales of 3,000 units for each of the two cameras are targeted by the company.

Meanwhile, Hewlett-Packard Co has introduced its PhotoSmart C500 digital camera which features a CCD with 2 million pixels, an optical 3x zoom lens and a digital 2x zoom function.
