Demand for Lithium Batteries Increasing Rapidly

Article Abstract:

There is an increase in the production of lithium batteries. This increase is attributed to the growth of such electronic products as office automation equipment and VRTs. These batteries are providing a backup power source for RAM products. Manufacturers are competing in the sale and development of lithium batteries that are based upon manganese dioxide, fluoride graphite and thionyl chloride. The demand for lithium batteries has doubled in Europe and tripled in North America. An estimated eighty-three million lithium batteries are expected to be produced this year, or a thirty per cent increase over the previous year. Graphs indicate the production of lithium batteries.

Demand for Fixed Disk Drives Increasing Rapidly

Article Abstract:

There is considerable growth in the hard disk drive market in Japan. Japanese manufacturers are focusing upon the production of 5.25 inch, 41mm hard disk models. The increased popularity of the hard disk is attributed to an increase in the file capacity of office automation equipment and a decrease in the price of personal computers. It is expected to increase at an average annual rate of 34.1 per cent.
