Article Abstract:
The American working population of the late twentieth century is an exceedingly heterogenous one. It follows that contemporary managers must develop a style appropriate to the situation if they are to be successful. The application of standard management philosophy is often not enough. Tact, discretion, creativity, and a willingness to question traditional rules, norms, and guidelines are all necessary in the new corporate environment.
