Mechanical design skills, competitive prices expand DBTel's business

Dialer & Business Electronics (DBTel) of Taiwan broadens its business through competitive pricing and focusing on mechanical design by increasing investments in research and development. The company's key business lines include scanners, ink-jet printers and faxes. According to DBTel's Vice President and General Manager, Henry Peng, the company's Optoelectronics and Systems Division plans to spur its ODM and ODM business efforts, particularly for the principal products. DBTel has opened a plant in Shanghai to effect the management's competitive pricing program.

LEO Image introduces scanner with 30-bit color for entry-level users as well as pros

LEO Image Inc. of Taiwan has unveiled its LEOPlus L6 flatbed scanner that is capable of producing 30-bit color depth and capturing over a billion colors in only one pass. The scanner, the latest product in the company's LEOPlus Line, measures 28.1cm by 44cm by 8.6cm and weighs 4kg. The product, which operates using a Smart Scan software that permits the unit's use by either beginners or professionals, is capable of supporting true 600dpi by 1,200dpi as well as 9,600dpi by 9,600dpi resolutions.
