Sharp Corp is currently marketing the JX-370W, JX-370M and JX-370U image scanners that work fast in both color and monochrome. Features of the 60dpi scanners include a flat-fixed head scanning technique that possesses a steady platform where original documents can be placed. The JX-370W is compatible with Windows systems and adopts a sCSI cable. The JX-370M is Macintosh compatible and uses a SCSI cable as well. Meanwhile, the JX-370U works with Macintosh and Windows systems and uses a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port. Each model carries a price tag of 33,000 yen ($279).

NS Calcomp Corp's 55436 AO monochrome light-emitting diode (LED) plotter, which accommodates 100Base-TX standards, has a print speed of 120mm per second. The machine, which features a memory of 256MB, utilizes Calcomp's newly developed controller with a 300MHz CPU. The 55436 plotter, which is sold for Y5.5 mil, employs a three-way concurrent process to perform conversion, printing and data reception at the same time.
