Article Abstract:
Sharp Corp.'s VE-LC2 digital still camera uses the Infrared Transfer Picture (IrTran-P) format for infrared wireless communications to enable compatibility with other digital cameras and with PCs and printers that also conform to the format. The company is using the standard, which it developed with four other companies, namely, Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Corp., Sony Corp., Casio Computer Co. Ltd., and Okaya SystemWare. The lightweight VE-LC2 also has a 2.5-inch LCD monitor and a lens that rotates 270 degrees for low- and high-angle images.
