With more than 1 million pixels, Konica's Q-M100 catches subtle details

Konica Corp.'s new digital still camera, the Q-M100, has 1.08 million pixels that enables it to produce very high-quality images. The digital camera, equipped with the firm's F2.8 Hexanon lens with automatic focus capabilities, is ideal for such businesses as printing, news publishing, insurance, construction, medicine and education. Other features include a 4MB CompactFlash card capable of storing 10 pictures in its super-fine setting, 20 images in the fine mode and 50 portraits in its economy setting.

Ricoh Co. Ltd.'s RDC-4300 digital still camera has a 1.32-million-pixel CCD and works with an RGB filter, which produces resolution that is four times better when compared with the usual VGA images. The camera also has of a 3x lens to eliminate image-processing errors sometimes experienced with ordinary step zoom systems. RDC-4300, which has a Super Macro feature that allows the user to focus on subjects as near as 8 cm, is also capable of capturing sounds running for a maximum of 8 per picture.
