American firm shows how to sell product on Indian TV
Article Abstract:
Telebrands, a direct marketing firm based in Fairfield, NJ, has been selling merchandises through Indian television and newspapers for the past four years. The firm also maintains retail distributors in 23 Indian cities. Telebrands is already India's largest buyer of TV home shopping time, booking large blocks of air time- 16 half hour sessions weekly and 35 two minute slots per day on a continuing basis. Though it sells its own products, such as sunglasses, teeth whitener and breast enhancing pads, Telebrands also markets other companies' products. For September 1998, the company is slated to launch three new products: the Mt. Fuji buckwheat pillow, Easy Crunch waist trimmer and Fliper wiper blades.
