Article Abstract:
New-boat sales for 1998 was 408,720 in the 40 states surveyed. Sales statistics also revealed an increase in sales for larger boats and a decrease for smaller boats. Overall, the 1998 boat sales declined by 9.1% compared with the 1997 sales mainly because of continued sales decline in the personal watercraft and small-boat categories.
