Article Abstract:
A brief recount of the unpleasant things that occurred in February 2005 related to direct marketing in particular the database industry is presented. Reference is made to the theft of data from Choice Point followed by the faux pas in a rented mail list that disclosed the religion affiliations of those in the list.
