Direct mail has been the workhorse of the direct marketing industry and development and technological evolutions have changed the basic art and science of the direct mail in the last 25 years. Extensive use of computers creation of in depth database and fragmentation of the media industry has resulted in major growth for the direct marketing field. Creation of the database, allowed marketers to carryout targeted, personal relevant and discreet direct mails with the percentage of positive response going up.
