Kalkreuth Roofing answers monks' prayers

Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal of Wheeling, WV, won a first-place award in the Reroofing, Institutional category of RSI's 7th annual Metal Roofing Projects of the Year for its job on St. Vincent's Archabbey Basilica in LaTrobe, PA. Among the difficulties met with the project included the 12:12 slope, the minimal accessibility, the height of the building and the continuous use of the church. Kalkreuth used 28,500 sq ft of pre-weathered stainless steel and 10,400 sq ft of tcs flat stock flashing trim pieces for the project.

Howard Roofing Systems tops church's new home

Howard Roofing Systems of Cary, NC, received a second place award in the New Roofing, Institutional Category of RSI's 7th annual Metal Roofing Projects of the Year for its St. Francis United Methodist church project. For the church, the company opted for a metal standing seam roof for its intricacies, long slopes and endurance. The material also gave more design lines and allowed the designers to match roof's color with its environment.
