Katrina speeds up Trinity's Gulfport expansion
Article Abstract:
Before hurricane Katrina struck the region, Trinity Yachts, a megayacht builder was losing its customers because of inability to keep pace with purchase orders. That is how an expansion plan came up. However, Katrina had other plans. It damaged the company's yard in Now Orleans. Even though the damage was not severe, the company was confronting power shortage and disruption in its phone service. It is this time that the company utilized to complete it is expansion plan by acquiring the former VT Halter shipyard.
