McMurdo now offering an upgrade on beacons: company acts in response to alleged failure in testing under adverse conditions at sea

The tests conducted by Chandler, Arizona-based Survive Foundations showed that the United Kingdom (U.K.) based McMurdo Ltd. beacons did not perform as expected in the adverse conditions at sea. In response to the finding of alleged failure in testing, McMurdo plans to offer a software and firmware upgrade to the owners of its GPS-enabled 406 MHz emergency beacons.
