NMMA played a big role in defeating OSHA rule
Article Abstract:
The National Marine Manufacturers Assn (NMMA) played a key role in defeating the OSHA's controversial ergonomics regulation. The proposed legislation would allow workers to receive 90 to 100% of their pay during absences for musculoskeletal disorders. However, the NMMA said it would cost manufacturers $6.7 billion to implement the law during its first year. However, the bill was rejected by the Senate on Mar 6, and by the House on Mar 7, 2001.
