Rivals.com, an online sports network based in Seattle, WA, is slowly outpacing its competitors in terms of home user loyalty. In Jan 2000, Nielsen//NetRatings ranked Rivals.com fourth on the Web in the home-user category. Although Rivals.com's number of monthly visitors is significantly less than those of other leading online sports networks, its average home viewer has been found to spend an hour per month at its site since it was established in Aug 1999.

Rivals.com goes fishing with TV offshoot

Rivals.com of Seattle, WA, has launched its sixth Web site that is exclusively dedicated to fishing. Lake Arrowhead, CA-based CAFishingShow.com is an offshoot of the TV program 'The California Fishing Show.' The new site offers video clips from the program, photos of fish that are indigenous to California as well as reporting from Gordon McHenry, the host of the TV show. The site is the third fishing site to be launched by Rivals.com since Mar 2000.

NBA.com lets fans create personal video archive
Article Abstract:
NBA.com, the official Web site of the National Basketball Assn, has introduced a free service called My Highlights, which lets viewers store streaming video of game action in a personal archive. Viewers can record their favorite playoff moments on their hard drives for future viewing. They can get these from NBA's highlight video files of its playoff games posted 10 to 15 minutes after the end of each quarter of the contests.
