The measurement obsession: going too far?

In 2005, marketing industry was obsessed with the need to prove the effectiveness of advertisements in increasing sales. However, there are other not so obvious benefits from marketing, which cannot be measured in sales. The need to understand those aspects and view marketing from a different perspective is highlighted.
