1990-96 Jeep Cherokee
Article Abstract:
Jeep's 1990-1996 Cherokee models are compact sport utility vehicles (SUVs) whose base four cylinder engines are adequate with manual shift, weak under a heavy load and simply feeble and unresponsive if hooked to an automatic transmission. On the other hand, the robust 6-cylinder engine enables quick takeoffs and immediate passing when used with either manual or automatic transmission. This generation is an excellent alternative for those who cannot afford a Grand Cherokee or Explorer.

1993-98 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Article Abstract:
Jeep's 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee models come only in a four-door body with one-piece rear liftgate. Base engine power in these vehicles is adequate for most drivers. However, the 5.2-liter V-8 engine is much better especially in low-speed acceleration as it delivers off-the-line pickup as well as brisk passing response. This generation offers impressive on- and off-road performance plus a broad range of engine and four-wheel drive choices.
