1991-96 Chevrolet Caprice/Impala SS
Article Abstract:
General Motors Corp's 1991-1996 Caprice/Impala SS models sport a new look but nothing else has changed significantly. The traditional soft ride of the Caprice is jarringly bouncy and floaty with the base suspension. The car leans way over in turns and wallows over wavy roads. Loose, vague steering impairs quick maneuvers. An optional F41 ride/handling suspension provides a slightly more secure feel without much loss of comfort. The stiffer suspension in the LTZ sedan has tightened handling considerably.

1990-94 Chevrolet Cavalier
Article Abstract:
Early four-cylinder engines in General Motors Corp's 1990-1994 Chevrolet Cavalier models provide only adequate performance and decent mileage, but the automatic transmission significantly reduces acceleration figures. Later four-cylinder engines in these models perform slightly better. The three-speed automatic also lags behind the four-speed units in fuel economy and quiet running. The Z24 with V-6 power exhibits brisk performance and styling flair.
