You've got mail
Article Abstract:
The UK's folder/inserter market shows no sign of slackening despite the popularity of e-mail and the Internet. The Royal Mail handled 75 million items of mail between 1998 and 1999, compared with just 53 million items in 1997/98. Some 17.1% of all mail sent is direct marketing. A folder/inserter machine can fold and stuff envelopes efficiently and cheaply although the odd mis-feed may occur.

Buying and running
Article Abstract:
Before buying a new folder/inserter machine, the cost of its maintenance and upgrading should be considered. Other ways of acquiring a folder/inserter include leasing and buying refurbished machines, which may be preferable if budgets are tight. High on the priority list should be service contracts and warranties, which should be studied carefully for services such as response times.
