The colour micro-dry printer market is aimed at the small office/home office user and competes with the ink jet sector. Prices range from around 250 pounds sterling to 600 pounds sterling, with some high-end machines being suitable for pre-press applications. The Citizen Printiva 1700 is a good value machine, priced at just under 400 pounds sterling and capable of full colour scanning at 600x600dpi. Other features include 32KB RAM, and Epson LQ-2500 and RAL emulations. Other micro-dry printers are evaluated.

It includes photo-realism and fluorescent cartridges for image enhancement and weighs 3.5 kg. The Lexmark Color Jetprinter 1000 is designed for a small office and costs 129 pounds sterling.
