Article Abstract:
It is important to ensure that a cycle helmet fits properly and does not move when it is worn. The buckle should be under the chin and the helmet should be worn low down on the forehead. Twenty four helmets were tested to assess their strap strength, how well they they stayed on and their shock absorbtion capabilities. The best helmet was the Specialized Air Speed costing 50 pounds sterling. Next was the Giro Alturus at 70 pounds. The cheapest model to pass the tests and be liked by users was the GT Gator at 35 pounds, the Bell Evo Tour at 90 pounds and the Giro Torero at 50 pounds.
