Printer languages
Article Abstract:
The industry standard for printer languages is Hewlett Packard's Page Control Language (PCL), which can only be used with IBM-compatible computers. An alternative is PostScript, which enables a file to be printed on any printer, with the image remaining the same, and is mainly used by designers and graphics artists. There are two versions of PostScript and some manufacturers have developed PostScript emulations, such as Brother's BR-Script, and Microsoft's TrueImage.
