Kevin Clinton from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents highlighted the scale of the pedestrian accident problem in Britain, and stated that the manufacturers of cars need to make the pedestrian protection their top priority. A car, which is more pedestrian friendly, does not compromise how safe it keeps the driver and passengers.

It is important to avoid car crash but avoiding huge damage of life and property due to this is more important, which led Euro New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) to develop new methods. NCAP rate the cars according to safety measures they provide to the people inside, the pedestrian and special protection for children.
