Persuading businesses that the promotion of health and fitness at work is a valuable exercise is difficult. Many employees do not wish to make use of fitness facilities and employers should encourage as many workers as possible to take some exercise if wasted investment is to be avoided. The health and fitness industry believes that a fitter workforce is good for the corporate image, reduces absenteeism, improves employee morale and increases productivity. The options that could be considered for businesses hoping to improve the health of their workforces are presented.

US company Danka has recently started to establish a presence on the UK photocopier distribution market. It has made more than 90 acquisitions since 1987, and now has more than 225 dealers in the US. It first entered the UK in Jun 1993 through its purchase of the Saint Group, and has since made at least eight large deals. It now has 20 branches in the UK, although is still not present at all in some areas.
