Sixteen different telephones and accessory items are evaluated. Four telephones priced between $25 and $70 are listed. The BellSouth 8830 is recommended by virtue of its features. Four cordless phones costing between $90 and $199 are listed. The $110 Casio PhoneMate CP-760 is rated a good value. Four cellular phones are evaluated. The Motorola StarTAC is recommended as it supports various optional features and it is the smallest of the phones. Four answering machines priced between $25 and 190 are evaluated. The $190 Sony SPP-A945 is recommended.
