The Internet: is it worth getting connected to the Internet?

Article Abstract:

Millions are connected to the Internet, and a recent survey undertaken by households surfing the Internet, considered they methods of connection to the Internet, service providers, and the various facilities provided on the Internet. E-mail was a popular service and most found strong appeal in using the Internet. However getting connected can be difficult and many households experienced problems. Some accidentally accessed unacceptable material and were concerned about that aspect of the Internet. The report considers six of the most well know on-line services and compares costs and speed.

Users of an internet phone service pay the normal phone company for the cost of the call to the internet service provider, as well as the amount the internet telephone service provider charges. The internet telephone service provider is usually paid by purchasing pre-paid credits. The main advantage of phoning from a PC is that it is less expensive for international calls. However, internet phone services are less attractive than the conventional phone service in terms of sound quality and ease of use.
