The benefits of digital cameras
Article Abstract:
Digital cameras do not need a film, have no accompanying development costs and allow pictures to be viewed instantly. While many digital cameras have a similar external appearance to film-based cameras, they are very different internally. They contain a silicon array of thousands of pixels, each of which reacts to light. The resultant image is transferred to a second chip for compression and is eventually saved on a memory card. Pictures are then downloaded onto a computer via a standard serial cable.
