Fax machines sales are set to remain high until the beginning of the 21st century, and they are a fast and efficient means of communication. Computer fax systems have several benefits over stand-alone equipment and allow users to receive and send faxes via their personal computers. Computer faxes are faster than traditional fax machines and fax quality is higher. Integration with other communications software, such as e-mail, is easy. Disadvantages include the difficulty of faxing paper documents and the need for organised system support.
