The cutting edge
Article Abstract:
With rising awareness of the need to protect against identity and corporate fraud, instead of discarding documents in waste paper baskets, businesses are increasingly investing in shredders. According to a research study, in 2004 the sales of shredders stood at 1.6 million units, worth [pounds sterling]46 million. The low-end desk-side machines are predominantly manufactured in China, while the bigger ones, needed for larger requirements, are generally from UK or Germany. Guidelines for businesses to minimize fraud, and factors to be considered before investing in a shredder, are explained. Supplier details, the best buys, and charts with product specifications, are presented.
