The launch of the euro in Jan 1999 is affecting purchasers of accounting software packages, despite the UK delaying its own entry. The adoption of the euro by 11 European Union members has impacted on British companies that do business with them. The UK's position on the euro is unclear and it could join after a short transition period, therefore it may be beneficial for those buying new accounting software to ensure it can cope with the euro.
