Article Abstract:
Investment trusts are a cheap method of investing stocks and shares and they provide the same investment choice as unit trusts. However they are often view as complicated and specialist investments. Investment trusts are closed ended investments whereas unit trusts are open ended, and they have low charges compared to unit trusts. Investment trusts have a fix amount of shares and changes in the net asset value (NAV) are a good guide to the performance of the trust. For cautious investors, trusts with a discount close to the average for the sector should be chosen.
