Aggregation, competition, and host-parasitoid dynamics: stability conditions don't tell it all
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine population dynamics and stability conditions. Established results of population dynamics are expressed as either algebraic or graphic descriptions of stability conditions. However, such representation does not consider substantial information on the impact of parameters on stability or instability. Results show that heterogenous parasitism exhibits effects on host-parasite relationships which are more complex than those established by earlier research.

Aggregation and stability in metapopulation models
Article Abstract:
The effect of aggregation on predator-prey interactions in which aggregation behavior is specified and in which prey populations consist of distinct high-density patches was investigated. The results showed that weak aggregation in populations has a stabilizing influence, whereas strong aggregation causes destabilization. This result supports an earlier model based on a phenomenological approach in which the behavior underlying aggregation is unspecified.

Competition among parasitoid species on a stage-structured host and its effect on host suppression
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to evaluate biological competition among parasitoid species. The study considers the case when two species attack different developmental stages of a single host species. It is shown that two versions of such a case can be developed. Hosts which are attacked by the egg parasitoid cannot be attacked by its offspring later. In the second version, larval parasitoid have the capability to attack its host.
