Comments on "A climatology of Derecho-producing mesoscale connective systems in the central and eastern united states, 1986-95: temporal and spatial distribution, past I
Article Abstract:
This article discusses two studies on the derecho phenomenon occurring on a high-frequency axis across the central and southern plains and winter/spring high-frequency axis from eastern Texas into the Carolinas. Data indicate that climatology of derecho-producing convective systems are primary axes of derecho activity of the annual weather cycle.

Article Abstract:
This article clarifies the derecho frequency distribution values and the discrepency in warm-season derecho-producing mesoscale convective systems reported earlier. The authors contend that discrepancies are mostly related to anomalous upper-air conditions that prevailed at the time of the study.
