Documentation of a 1450 Ma contractional orogeny preserved between the 1850 Ma Sudbury impact structure and the 1 Ga Grenville orogenic front, Ontario: discussion and reply
Article Abstract:
The existence of a 1450 Ma orogenic event which affected Huronian rocks and Proterozoic granites is proven by geochronological data which suggested a major metamorphic event 10 km south of the Chief Lake Complex and another which described a period of metamorphism between 1453 and 1456 Ma and between 1454 and 1458 Ma. It is also believed that the deformation features along the Murray and Long Lake fault zones were triggered by the same deformation event in the Chief Lake Complex.

Magnetic anomaly near the center of the Vredefort structure: implications for impact-related magnetic signatures: comment and reply
Article Abstract:
Magnetic signatures generated by meteorite impacts are analyzed based on the results of a study of the ca. 2 Ga Vredefort structure, which is a product of a large meteorite impact. It is suggested that postimpact thermal event caused by the reset remanent magnetism in the rocks is responsible for the magnetic anomaly and thermal metamorphism predating the formation of the magnetic signatures.

High radiogenic heat-roducing granites and metamorphism - an example from the western Mount Isa inlier, Australia: comment and reply
Article Abstract:
High radiogenic heat-producing granites from Mount Isa in Australia were not caused by the Sybella bandolith, but synmetamorphic intrusions were significant. However, other researchers maintain low pressure metamorphism is an important element in the Western fold belt and internal heat sources are important in the overall crust heat budget.
