Early Jurassic deformation in the Pine Forest Range, northwest Nevada, and implications for Cordilleran tectonics
Article Abstract:
A variety of deformational and metamorphic features at different stratigraphic levels build up the Jurassic structural record in the Pine Forest Range, Nevada, which is a part of the Mesozoic volcanic arc system. Structural analysis, supported by information from U-Pb zircon dating of two major plutons, suggests that regional shortening deformation occurred during Early Jurassic. Contrasting results from other parts of the arc system hint at a complex tectonic history of the western US Cordillera plate margin.

Mesozoic deformation in the Nevada test site and vicinity: implications for the structural framework of the Cordilleran fold and thrust belt and tertiary expression north of Las Vegas valley
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the CP Hills and Mine Mountain Area of the Nevada Test Site (NTS). The study integrated findings from analysis of maps and cross sections and regional structural relations reconnaisance. Results show that the CP thrust separates into Mesozoic thrust systems. The first system is the west vergent CP thrust which protrudes in the CP Hills and Mine Mountain. The other thrust is found northwest of Yucca Flat and is referred to as the east vergent Belted Range thrust.

Mid-Paleozoic olistoliths in eastern Hayfork terrane melange, Klamath Mountains: implications for late Paleozoic-early Mesozoic Cordilleran forearc development
Article Abstract:
The western Paleozoic and Triassic terranes in the southern Klamath Mountains preserve structural and petrologic evidence of high-pressure-temperature accretionary metamorphism, although their lithologic, structural, and petrologic character varies widely. Moreover, the (40)Ar/(39)Ar technique is found to be effective in structurally complicated melange belts characterized by mixed provenance and polyphase metamorphic events.
