Metamorphic and structural evidence for significant vertical displacement along the Ross Lake fault zone, a major orogen-parallel shear zone in the Cordillera of western North America
Article Abstract:
The metamorphic and structural evidence for significant vertical displacement located at the Ross Lake fault zone was investigated to examine the deformation and fault contacts between tectonic blocks. Results reveal that the Ross Lake fault zone is made up of vertical displacement characterized by tertiary lateral movements. Vertical displacement accounts for the major petrologic differences occurring in the crustal blocks.
