On the future of research-intensive universities and their associated atmospheric science programs
Article Abstract:
The University Corp. for Atmospheric Research's annual meeting in Boulder, CO, on Oct. 12-13, 1993 aimed to discuss measures to enhance the role of research universities in the promotion of atmospheric science programs. In his keynote address, Martin Jischke ofIowa State University said that research institutes must prepare to accept change as part of the evolution of the academic community to meet the society's rising need for science and technology. He urged universities to expand their services and research activities and be more productive members of the community.
