Article Abstract:
The central Menderes massif is indeed a metamorphic core complex that records the start of the continuing extension of western Turkey as concluded by R. Hetzel et al in their article 'Bivergent extension in orogenic belts: the Menderes massif (southwestern Turkey).' Rob Westaway's claim that the data indicated slow denudation due to a very high geothermal temperature gradient caused by hydrothermal circulation, is incorrect. The article studied tectonic denudation of the massif and the exhumation may be largely because of normal faulting and not erosion.

Normal vs. strike-slip faulting during rift development in East Africa: the Malawi rift
Article Abstract:
East-northeast to southeast rotation occured in the Malawi rift extension. Block faulting and basin subsidence gave way to strike-slip faulting, which amplified basin ridge uplift and created alluvial basins. Older faults are restricted to the outer portions of the rift, whereas deformation propagation is evident towards the center, as is evident in other rifts that abort extension and do not mature into oceans.

Quaternary bryozoan reef mounds in cool-water, upper slope environments: Great Australian Bight
Article Abstract:
Carbon-14 mass spectrometry of bryozoan reef mounds in the Great Australian Bight suggest the most recent mounds, from over 26,000 to 35,000 years ago, grew during the last glacial period but died during a rise in sea level. The mounds share similarity in scale, paleoenvironments in older structures, geometry and general composition but do not have extensive synsedimentary cementation.
