Retrograde fluids in the Archean Shawmere anorthosite, Kapuskasing Structural Zone, Ontario, Canada
Article Abstract:
The Archean Shawmere anorthosite is located within the granulite facies region of the Kapuskasing Structure Zone (KSZ) Ontario. It is crosscut by several veins containing calcite, quartz, zoisite, dolomite, margarite, pargonite, chlorite and clinozoisite, which reveals formation spanning a range of temperatures and fluid compositions. The link between high density COsub2-rich fluid rich inclusions with retrograde veins, indicates formation of similiar composition after the metamorphism peak.

Distinguishing magmatic from subsolidus epidote: laser probe oxygen isotope compositions
Article Abstract:
The oxygen isotope compositions of four textural epidote varieties in the Mount Lowe intrusion, namely, euhedra, anhedra, intergrowths and cross-cutting veins are studied to distinguish between magmatic and subsolidus growth. Results show that large euhedra and equant anhedra of epidote are magmatic in origin. The subolidus origin of intergrowths with euhedral faces against biotite also show that crystal faces do not need growth from magma.
