The allometric scaling of density and body mass: a nonlinear relationship for terrestrial mammals
Article Abstract:
A study tests the previous allometric analysis of the relationship between population density and body mass showing that different trophic groups have divergent relationships. A research on 45 mammalian communities exhibits positive, negative or even no relationship between density and body mass depending on the trophic groups and the body size of the members. There is inequitable partitioning among populations with populations of large mammals using more than 100 times energy than the smallest animals.

Expected population density versus productivity in ratio-dependent and prey-dependent models
Article Abstract:
The study of prey-dependent models shows that the mean density of predators and prey increases with the increase in productivity indicating that the subtle difference in predictions of prey-versus ratio dependent model diverges from that expected at equilibrium. In the absence of predators, the prey density at equilibrium increases linearly with a increase in the carrying capacity.
