A forecst of the situation in the agro-industrial complex to the year 2003

The author assesses the future of Russia's agricultural industry using a technique which considers such factors as the production, processing and consumption of agricultural products and the cost of agricultural equipment and supplies. Further issues discussed include domestic competition with import foods, price parity, costs of animal-husbandry, finance and credit, and business management.

Article Abstract:
Russia's industrial sector must free itself from assembling goods for major foreign companies if it is to survive. Turning these plants into producer-enterprises, together with an investment tax, would promote developing a domestic and foreign market share.
