A note on export unit value indices in competitiveness variables
Article Abstract:
Measurement errors can result from the use of export unit value indices in a relative price variable. Four applications of export unit value indices are analyzed to determine the extent of measurement errors when exporters' invoices are denominated in different currencies. The analysis shows that measurement errors can be partially attributed to the lag between the time of contract and the delivery of exports. Exporters' choice of currency had a significant impact on the measurement error.

From demand equations to two regimes: the theoretical development of export models
Article Abstract:
The four types of export models include the export demand model, the simultaneous-equation model, the export determination model, and the two-regime model. All models are based on assumptions pertaining to the environment of the exporting companies, and that the new models appear to be more theoretically or economically advanced than determination and more ad-hoc models.

Domestic and foreign sales when prices in both markets are uncertain
Article Abstract:
The authors examine foreign and domestic sales in light of single output and two kinds of risk aversion. Results of this complicated model are unambiguous in the case of substitutes.
