A note on the Pythagorean Theorem of baseball production
Article Abstract:
The Pythagorean Theorem should not be used to judge the performance of baseball managers as it is an identity and not a theory. Proponents of the function of this rule claimed that the ratio of wins to losses may be roughly analyzed through the square of the ratio of team runs scored versus those of the rival team's. The perception that the Pythagorean Theorem is a production system is part of that assumption. The estimation of a production function with team winning percent as the dependent variable and team performance variables is the right measurement of managerial performance.

Pythagora's petulant persecutors
Article Abstract:
The Pythagorean Theorem is deemed an appropriate standard for the evaluation of the performance of baseball managers, as opposed to the conclusion made by Ruggiero. Ruggiero failed to consider that the Pythagorean Theorem is derived from an ex post identity which permits the creation of a linked ex ante hypothesis.
