An alternative definition of the arc elasticity of demand
Article Abstract:
A simple alternative measure for the arc elasticity of demand, which has some attractive features, is introduced. The alternative definition equals the point demand elasticity at some point inside the interval, resulting in the exact estimations of demand elasticity when this is constant. It satisfies the three a priori desirable conditions imposed by Allen, as well as two more conditions later added to the former. It likewise yields narrower values than the widely used measures of Dalton, Lerner and Allen.

Economic studies on the Internet
Article Abstract:
There are a handful of Web sites that offer information on macromodels for macroeconomic researchers. The University of Warwick offers a good overview of UK macroeconomic modelling on their web site. Another web site with good general information is published by the London Business School. The Fairmodel web site, hosted by Yale University, is an excellent resource for working with US, multicountry and historical econometric modelling.
